In 2009, during its anti-pornography and anti-illegal publication activity, Sanya city deployed 4,857 person times of law enforcers, inspected 4,554 business places, confiscated 38,752 pieces of illegal objects including 22,292 pieces of pirated AV products, 1,798 pieces of bawdry AV products and 987 copies of pirated books and periodicals, banned 12 electric games places with no licenses, revoked 3 AV operation licenses, investigated 19 cases, transferred 2 people to the public security organs and turned in 30,000 yuan penalty.

Moreover, Sanya noticed three foreign-related hotels or restaurants to stop receiving TV programs in an illegal way and ordered 4 electric games rooms to move far away from schools.
