Fuzhou olive gains the collective trademark of GI |

It is learnt on April 12 from Fuzhou municipal department of industry and commerce that, "福州橄榄 (Fuzhou Olive)" was approved as the collective trademark of geographic indication (GI). This is the fourth trademark of GI following "永泰芙蓉李 (Yongtai Furongli)", "福州茉莉花茶 (Fuzhou Jasmine Tea)" and "永泰柿饼 (Yongtai Dried Persimmon)" and also the first GI trademark for the olive industry in China. On September 6, 2005, Fuzhou olive industry association applied for a collective trademark for "福州橄榄" before State Administration for Industry and Commerce. After 4 years' efforts by the municipal government, department of industry and commerce, trademark association and Fuzhou Juncheng IPR Agent Co., Ltd., the application was approved; and the term is from March 28, 2010 to March 27, 2020. The principal for Fuzhou olive industry association expressed that it will organize trainings on the standard use of the collective trademark and increase efforts in propaganda to let the trademark become famous nationally. |
