It is Learnt from the municipal Meeting on IP Pilot Work held yesterday that, last year, the patent applications of Chongqing reached 13,482 pieces, break 10,000 pieces for the first time, increased by 62% compared with last year and hit a historically high level.
It is introduced that, among the 13,482 patent applications, the applications of invention patent were 3,845 pieces, increased by 92.5% compared with the year before last. "The growth rate ranks the first in other provinces and cities in the whole country", said related professional, and half of them were applied by enterprises.
"This shows the awareness of enterprises in Chongqing on IP protection is gradually enhanced and the core competitiveness of enterprises has become increasingly evident." He added.
"This year, patent will play an important role," said the related principal of Chongqing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, and patent will be the key index in the evaluation of hi-tech enterprise and product. Meanwhile, patent will also be the important content of assessment of enterprise technology centers, colleges' laboratories and assessment and acceptance of engineering research center.
