China: Campaign against pirated AV products to be launched

Vice Director of the Copyright Management Department under General Administration of Press and Publication Wang Zhicheng proclaimed that, a campaign against pirated AV products will be conducted and pirated books, CDs and authorized products related to Shanghai Expo will be swept away. Moreover, the big AV publishing and manufacturing entities as well as their managers will be investigated, too.

The major inspection regions include Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Beijing and Guangdong and other five cities like Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Suzhou and Wuxi, where Shanghai Expo forums will be held. During the sweeping activity, a swift response mechanism to combat infringement and piracy actions during 2010 Expo Shanghai China will be established.
