WIPO Director General gives a high appraisal to Chinese IP work |
On March 10, 2010, Ambassador of Geneva-based delegation He Yafei met with Director-General of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry. Francis Gurry said that the cause of China's intellectual property made a significant progress in recent years. China ranked first in the world in domestic annual trademark and patent applications. Last year, China's international patent applications up 19 percent, ranked third in the world, and set a shining example for the other countries. WIPO is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China to further publicize China's successful experience on IP development. Ambassador He thanked the high appraisement on China's IP business development given by Francis Gurry, and expressed that China will continue to support the work of WIPO and Director-General, and strive to promote the international cooperation on IPRs. |
