Guangdong: Shantou starts patent appraisal activity

It is learnt that Shantou has officially started the appraisal work for the 3rd Patent Award and all the entities and individuals who were authorized with invention patents, utility model patents and design patents before July 1, 2009 can file applications for the award appraisal, but the main invention should have no patent ownership disputes or inventor disputes.

Since the establishment of patent awards in 2006, Shantou has appraised 12 gold prizes, 22 excellent awards and 20 excellent inventors. Meanwhile, Shantou recommended a pile of awarded projects to participate in national and provincial patent assessment activities, of which 6 won national excellent prizes, 3 obtained provincial gold prizes and 9 entitled with excellent prizes. The prize appraisal activities effectively promoted the independent innovation of the city, bushed the use of technologies with independent IPRs and boosted S&T progress and economic and social development.
