CAS and Tianjin build Industrial Innovation and Incubation Center |

March 7, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Tianjin signed the "supplement agreement on jointly building industrial biotechnology". It is learned from the Municipal Science and Technology Commission in Tianjin yesterday that, according to the agreement, as the R&D transformation base of achievements of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tianjin Industrial Innovation and Incubation Center (Incubation Center) jointly built by the two sides will further attract the world's top talents to enter for entrepreneurships, promote scientific and technological achievements and talents gathering to Tianjin Binhai New Area, and boost development and opening of Binhai New Area by relying on scientific and technological resources from home and abroad. According to the "agreement", the two sides will jointly the build Incubation Center and Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park, provide full services focusing on scientific research and development, transformation and industrialization, and speed up the development of the city’s strategic emerging industries. The center will be constructed in two phases, in the two-years' start period, they will use the port industrial area of Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology of about 5,000 square meters of as a carrier, and the start-up costs of five million yuan will be given by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the special supports will be set up by Tianjin; they will build a 50,000 square meters' R&D and service building for scientific and technological achievements research and development, incubation, pilot, as well as scientific and technological information, intellectual property, financing and other services in the development phase, and establish the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tianjin Innovation Industrial Park and High-tech Industrialization Demonstration Base with 500,000 square meters. According to reports, Incubation Center will build six major functional platforms including joint research and development platform of enterprises, results engineering incubation platform, S&T Entrepreneurship service platform, service platform for S&T financing, S&T information exchange platform and operating platform of intellectual property rights. These functional platforms will play a positive role in promoting research and development and transformation of scientific and technological achievements and exchange of information. |
