SPD Bank Chairman: strengthen IP protection of financial innovation |

This year, Member of the National Committee of CPPCC and Board Chairman of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Ji Xiaohui submitted a proposal to call on strengthening the IP protection of financial innovation and vigorously promote the construction of Shanghai International Financial Center. After the analysis on the status of IP protection in international and domestic financial innovation, Ji Xiaohui indicated that, China is relatively weaker on this aspect, the problems are: lack of a systematic IP protection strategy for financial innovation, the mechanisms of coordination and interaction between the financial supervision and management authorities, legislature and intellectual property protection departments haven't been established; domestic financial institutions' IP protection for financial innovation is not enough; and the legal system concerning patent protection of business methods needs to be improved. Ji Xiaohu thus appealed that, as a key component of vigorously promoting the construction of Shanghai International Financial Center, we should strengthen the IP protection of financial innovation: promoting the settlement of IP protection of financial innovation; accelerating the consummation of construction of legislative system for the IP protection of financial innovation; and carrying out IP protection pilot of financial innovation in Shanghai. |
