Hunan: Changsha ranks first in central China |
It is learnt from Changsha Municipal Intellectual Property Office on March 4 that, according to the latest annual patent authorization information released by State Intellectual Property Office: in 2009, Changsha had 1,278 invention patents, ranked the fifth place of the sub-provincial and provincial capital cities in the whole country, and ranked 1st in central China. At the same time, Changsha had 6,182 patent applications last year, of which invention patents were 2,545, due to the patent should pass through a period of more than one year from application to authorization, this set the stage for Changsha's patent growth amount for the coming year. Patent ownership is an important index for measuring a city's ability of independent innovation. According to the introduction of Peng Min'an, Director of Municipal Intellectual Property Office that, Changsha had 4,065 job applications in the total of 6,182 patent applications last year, of which patent applications by enterprises reached 2,657, increased by 60.9%, accounted for 43.0% of the city's total amount of the year; meanwhile, the enterprises' authorized patents in Changsha were increased by 58.3%.
