Qinghai stages ICH show in Beijing |

The special performances from Qinghai Province were held in the Theater of the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing on Wednesday night. The performances, part of the Show Activities of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Minorities, involved different ethnic groups such as Tibetan, Hui, Tu and consisted of five parts, showing their amazing cultures and various folk customs. Performers presented twelve programs with special ethnic characteristics, including seven Tibetan ones such as the Tibetan folk songs, Chigu Dance, Cho Dance, Yi Dance and the Zhamunie Singing with String Instrument. Among them, some inheritors of national-level intangible cultural heritage also joined the performances. "Most performers are local farmers and herders and the performances are all orginial without any artificial changes," said Deng Fulin, director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the Qinghai Provincial Culture and Press and Publication Department. The Show Activities of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Minorities, running from Feb. 27 to March 30 in Beijing, were hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and organized by the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center of the China Art Research Institute. The activities aimed to show varieties of China's intangible cultural heritage of minorities to more people and step up their protection and inheritance. |
