Days ago, Nantong Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce and Municipal Credit Cooperatives signed an agreement on the implementation of trademark pledge loan, which marks this kind of loan was formally carried out to the enterprises in Nantong, and the SMEs with advantage of brands will benefit from it. Two enterprises have submitted applications and hoped to get loans by the advantage of brands.

Generally, enterprises should take their fixed assets as mortgage when apply for loans in the bank, but most small and medium enterprises are in the status of a shortage of funds and lacking of fixed assets. In November last year, Nantong industry and commerce departments tried using trademark as security for loans, then gradually improved related management measures, and promoted it this year.

The framework for cooperation constructed by the government and bank together established the service platform of financing by trademark for the enterprises. Industrial and commercial department guides enterprises on the creation, application, management and protection of trademarks, and lays the foundation for trademark pledge loans; credit cooperatives help enterprises to be familiar with the loan process, ways and methods. Both sides together investigate and confirm the status of trademark exclusive rights of enterprises, and scientifically and objectively appraise the trademarks. Meanwhile, both sides can work together to prevent and control credit risks. Industrial and commercial department effectively monitors the trademark usage behavior of loan enterprises, and the credit cooperatives continuously pay attention to the enterprises' management status and assess the exclusive right of registered trademarks.
