Meeting for national IPR (patent) protection association held

Lately, National IPR (Patent) Protection Association Working Exchange Meeting was held in Beijing. Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Gan Shaoning attended and delivered the meeting. Head of China Patent Protection Association Wang Jingchuan made a summary speech.

Gan Shaoning pointed out that, in recent years, the IPR (patent) protection associations positively worked in national and regional IPR work, provided many services for the member units,  enterprises and public institutions and made contribution to the IPR cause.

Gan Shaoning put forward three opinions on enhancing the construction of IPR protection associations. First, governmental departments should further exert the role of IPR protection associations in linking enterprises, serving enterprises and lifting enterprises' IPR ability; second, it is a must to further define the tenet and responsibility of IPR protection associations and promote their healthy development; third, the IPR protection associations should enhance self construction, regulate management, better the general assembly and council system, cultivate talents, perfect operation mechanism and gradually realize marketization.
