Henan: SME IPR pledge loan starts

Recently, Henan promulgated the Direction on Developing SME IPR Pledge Loan Work, indicating the start of IPR financing work for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

It is introduced that Henan will spend three years finishing IPR cultivation for 50 would-be-listed enterprises, recommend 30 to 50 patented technologies for IPR pledge loan, establish a base to manage IPR pledge loan projects, build 10 patent exhibition and trade incubators and gradually set up IPR financing service platform of Henan.

In 2009, Henan owned 378,000 SMEs, 81,000 more than the previous year, increasing by 27%. According to Director of Henan Provincial IP Office Guo Minsheng, last year, the patent applications filed by SMEs accounted for nearly 50% of the total amount of 19,589 pieces in the  whole province. IPR pledge loan will definitely promote the development of SMEs.
