Sino-UK Copyright exchange and cooperation becomes normalized and systemized |
On September 3, local time in the UK, Director of the National Copyright Administration of PRC Liu Binjie signed a cooperative agreement with UK Minister for Copyright Judith Wilcox. This signals that the exchange and cooperation between China and the UK becomes normalized and systemized. Both sides have realized the value and significance of the intellectual property in accelerating the national and international economy development and encouraging supports to the creative industry, recognized the importance of advancing, consummating and reinforcing the national copyright system, and hoped to further promote the cooperation between the two sides and also the commercial trading. Under the agreement, the two sides will hold regular meetings and cooperate with each other, such as discussing big subjects, communicating copyright related information, sharing best practices in copyright legislation and enforcement, researching the rules in copyright protection, and so on, so as to reinforce the strategic partnership between China and the UK. After the signing ceremony, Chinese copyright delegation and UK Intellectual Property Office communicated and reached agreements on how to carry out the agreement, the issues of music copyright protection and digital copyright protection online, especially the copyright protection in Olympics. |
